In approximately a week from now, we will be regularly publishing updates on a weekly basis here on DevBest, so expect a fair few things!

Cyclone began development around 4 months ago and since then we've come a long way and we feel as though we learned a lot, we are still continuing to learn new things and it's been one amazing journey. We cannot thank people who were involved in our project enough for their countless nights without sleep and having the drive to carry on. We also cannot thank our donors enough; we have managed to raise up to around $3,450 so far! - Which is amazing for any project let alone a Habbo Project! We would specifically like to give a special thanks to Wesley (also known as TheGeneral) for a huge portion of it. While donations are not necessary for our project, it helps motivate us and gives us extra funds that were previously unavailable to be put to use, however for those who are on our discord; they are very well aware that we have a significant budget to maintain ourselves indefinitely.

In this thread we would also like to take the chance of making our objectives very clear to everyone; we do not just want to provide a HTML5 alternative to the generic Flash client, but rather an entire all inclusive platform to run the retro you always dreamt of. This would not be possible without the likes of people like @Platinum and @LeChris who have been here from the very start and guiding us with advice regarding technologies and coding practices, amongst other general information. With the help of Chris, he has offered to partner up Heroic 4 and Cyclone - so we would like to thank him! Heroic is currently going through a major revamp and therefore will consist of many new features whilst designs are also being added to it so we can follow the specifications that we proposed prior.

You must be registered for see images attach

So why did we choose Heroic? Well, it is built with modern technologies that we currently use to make integration a breeze from an experienced developer who has been in the scene for years with a plethora of knowledge on creating content management systems.

Heroic 4 will be compatible with Cyclone and Arcturus 2.0 which Wesley (TheGeneral) is currently working on and additional information/support about this can be found on our Discord where you can not only talk to us, but the rest of the Cyclone Team as well! On a brief side note, we would like to mention that after much deliberation, we have decided that Heroic 4 will not be compatible with certain renames.

With that being said, you will of course still be able to use any CMS of your choice; however Heroic 4 will be our default CMS which would consist of full integration, support, documentation and regular updates that are semantic to the core project.

The new repository of Heroic will be available here (soon): .

Moving on, we would like to mention that we have many big plans here at Cyclone which consist of rather challenging features and time frames to work with, so we appreciate most people's patience with us. To meet these objectives, we are always eager to potentially add talented individuals to our team who share our philosophy and similar passions, this sometimes includes merging with pre-existing or new projects. While some have questioned our practices in regards of merging with other HTML5 projects and creating a "monopoly", we would like to make it apparent that this is not our intention, however instead our target is to be the de facto platform for Habbo (Retros) and hopefully one day surpass them in terms of additional useful and fun features. We can only possibly achieve this by adopting other amazing projects with all sorts of different attributes, as we believe they can help us achieve our results faster so we can deliver our project quicker. The goal is not to remove people's choices away from them, but rather to give them an opportunity to work coherently alongside with the biggest and the most up to date Habbo HTML5 project in existence. In this scene people usually doubt projects like ours but fear not, we are a committed team who are organised and have no plans of stopping this - and as a point of celebration, we've just hit a milestone of 500 commits! Not to mention over the past month we have had a 24/7 coverage, meaning there is always someone working on Cyclone throughout day and night so progress is always at the absolute maximum.

As some of you might be aware, there have been rumours going around for a couple weeks or so, regarding a possible breach in our developmental team; however I would like to reassure you that I personally will be taking advanced measures and procedures to find out any information regarding source code potentially being leaked amongst other private information. Let this be a warning to those who wish to tarnish our project because I would like to remind people that precautions can be taken without any hesitance.

One of our current procedures is that we have temporarily halted development for roughly 2 days in an attempt to create a system which would make leaks near impossible- and if a leak was to be posted in any form of manner, it would be easily be picked up, noted and recognised. Anyone who is caught leaking anything from the project will automatically be removed without any exceptions.

All of this might make some wonder whether if Cyclone is open-sourced, closed-sourced or both? As of yet, we do not have a definitive answer, however we can confirm that it will be decided on the 15th of July 2019 through a vote basis of the quality assurance, contributors, developers and maintainers. So for anyone claiming that we are either open or closed-source, here is your answer - neither as of now!

Another topic that we've been approached about is compatibility with existing emulators, currently Cyclone will only be compatible with Arcturus 2.0 (Developed by TheGeneral/Wesley) as well as the server that comes out of the box (Cyclone's Server), additional servers are being considered however we do not have any news on this topic as of now. Moreover, the pre-alpha is still going to be available soon however due to recent developments and situations, we are left with no choice but to delay it a little further. We would sincerely like to apologise about this.

Last but not least, I would personally like to welcome back Blidnight who is more than happy to re-join our team as he is done with his exams and quickly got to work with the rest of our team to finish furniture interactions. We would also like to welcome Ken (also known as lElectrico), who is our new maintainer from Spain.

Now for some visual updates!

Thank you for reading and supporting Cyclone!

Amazing project with a great foreseeable future, also not to mention the extreme generosity the Cyclone project has for helping other projects out there with funds they so desperately need! No selfishness whatsoever. Leading the HTML5 scene by perfect example! :D

Honestly if I were you guys and had the money, I’d consider buying Habbo lol
Why buy Habbo if they can create their own engine. Honestly, projects like this would be better put into their own game. You wouldn't have to worry about legal issues and you'd be your own game instead of a retro. Sounds to me like a win-win situation, but that would take more time, unless you have a dedicated team of developers. I mean this mobile MMORPG I help run was made by a single developer and he's 15, so meh. Just grossed 1K followers on Instagram, has a lot of videos of it on YouTube, hashtags are used on over 2K posts, averages around 100-200 players everyday. Decent game, I can give more information on it off-topic. But anyways, good luck man.

The progress is coming along, I’d like to take a moment to appreciate the 1:1 with Habbo and the amount of details done with the furni and just the over all work that has been put into this project and from the looks of it nothing is done “ Half ass “ or partly working, everything is clean and finessed to its best of looking, unlike other HTML5 projects that I've came across!! With that being said keep up the hard work. ???

This might be off-topic and if so i apologize.
Seems like the OP of this thread and owner of the project supports doxing people.
You must be registered for see images attach

After the dox Chiru/lPatron/EZ-C explains that he won't delete it because it's "Free speech".
You must be registered for see images attach

After that he changes his mind saying that because it's not his main discord account he has no perms to delete it.

Where after this, he shows us a screenshot of his perms where it clearly shows "Delete message" in red.

This project seems uncontrolled with the owner letting people dox, and not taking a stand against because the dox is against someone he has a discussion with. Sad to see it start out so well, to end like this.

This was taking part inside the official Cyclone Discord.

Reported for being an off topic post, but "This project seems uncontrolled with the owner letting people dox" just one reply to this, we cannot control what users post on our Discord server. Since then said message has been deleted, all chatlogs deleted associated with the topic, a new rule has been added and more people were given moderation permission, If that isn't taking a stand I don't know what is - feel free to let us know what else we can do more to take a stand against doxing.

The role of deleting messages, settling arguments and so forth fall into the authority of a Moderator and while I'm in charge of the project, I am not a Moderator and I do not own the Discord server and we had (at that point in time) 1 Moderator who was unfortunately AFK while the situation took place, and like with many messages I was pressured to delete from various topics I didn't as I didn't want to overstep my role.

Thank you

I have since left Cyclone, if thats what they are about, im not here for it. Nothing but respect for John and EZ-C But, the time has come, enough is enough i am done supporting cyclone,

There was no reason to go out of your way for "suspecting John" as the person who was attacking your home network. And to go out of your way to put someone in harms way? Nah im not living for that.

Already addressed this above, cannot control people from joining the Discord server and posting whatever they want. The messages posted were after the doxer leaked the information since this screenshot doesn't provide any context (as it can be seen here below with the timings).

Used to have respect for both sides of the 'issue', sadly lost today. I can't agree more with @Laynester .
Don't lie point blank to your entire discord and then try to play it off like we're the blind ones.

Good luck with Cyclone but I don't agree with anything that's been /released/ by them today.

Adding on to this after seeing a reply, you might not control who joins and posts, but you can certainly delete things which may harm someone in the scene or cause drama for yourself.

Glad its been deleted but you had to 'have a discussion' whether or not you should add the rule of 'no doxxing' in Cyclone? That's sick, should be a no-brainer for anyone.
