Will there ever be another Habbo Roleplay?

I suppose this is a topic where opinions, conversation and overall the likelihood of it ever being a realistic possibility within this community again will differ.

It's more just for conversation, I know Peak being gone is old news now but what do you guys think of a new Roleplay coming along and reviving the RP community, bringing it back to what it once was. I've seen different releases, developments and previous role plays that happened after Peak closed it's doors, my main point is the dedication/development. The RP's that came and went didn't stay open long at all once they launched, personally in my own opinion this is because "some" not all of the people who launched the role plays probably thought to themselves "Yeah let's open a Role play quick, peaks just closed so the community will come running here".

That being said, it didn't work and for obvious reasons, it's because people didn't get the original experience that they once had. What do you as a community think could bring a difference to this, obviously the files won't ever be the exact same, especially with the rip-offs or different releases and others adding on to those that do exist and not following through with it. Please share thoughts and the rest in the comments, again this is mainly for conversation.

Thank you.

It wasn't so much about having the same experience as the fact that they didn't open. When those new groups started everyone did shift to them and are currently waiting for a decent one to open. While bored everyone is on boon and Habbo talking about RPs. When one opens people will join assuming it's not a pile of crap.

100% there's no right or wrong here, but at the moment I think the only potential is HabLife. I haven't come across anything else yet, but who knows?

I don't think any of them have potential at the moment. It seems like another peak rip claiming that it's not and some of the staff are sketchy. Personally don't see any potential in HabLife but that's just me. Good luck to them they still have a long way to go so if that's what your bet is on you might have to still wait for a while. we might see a decent rp open in 2055.

I mean I said "I think" meaning that as long as the development is consistent and the people behind it don't get bored or run out of ideas, progress is pretty rapid for now. Let's see what happens. As for the staff being "sketchy" I don't know exactly what you mean by that as I'm not sure who you're referring to directly, but I'm just here to see what happens either way.

What is it you would like to see on an RP?

As previously said, opinions differ. I would rather remain consistently on a roleplay that has a dedicated and enthusiastic development compared to two people who throw in what everyone wants and then close within a month or two.
I don't mind having to wait for what I'd want to see if it means it lasting a longer amount of time in the whole.

That didn't really answer their question you said you would rather wait for what you want to see but what is it that you want to see? I understood that you just want to see updates but I think their question was what type of updates? What do you expect to actually see implemented into an RP? What for you is considered an RP?

My bad lol, well to be honest (a long shot) but a normal Roleplay with a twist, for example; you can still roam the streets, work in a corporation, commit crime etc. but with the option (gathering that's what you wanted.) to be able to go into a different kind of Roleplay world e.g instead of quests you could switch back and forth from the "Normal Habbo roleplay" or go outside of the "normal".

Example:

Spaceship Hub:

There will be a central Hub where players either as a team or individually can gather and prepare for their space voyages - it includes exploration, asteroid mining, diplomatic encounters with aliens and interstellar research.

As I said that's an example I was shown, it seems far-fetched and whatnot, but it's definitely different & I think it's cool.

In a sense what you're saying is somewhat of an interactive story mode? or just creative team games?

Exactly yeah, but depending on how the community would want it/how the developer decides to do it.

There were many RPs that had the same quality and features as Peak long before Peak was a thing, with the exception they weren't pure cash grabs that opened and closed yearly.

That being said, the RP scene is very small, very nostalgic and very out of touch with how fun these games actually were and can be.

RPs are PvP arenas with farming on the side at best

nothing will top peak imo, it'd have to have very skilled developers on it to compete with peak
The best RPs are the original ones from Sojobo Otaku Studios nothing has topped them yet.

You forgot corps which are very important because not everyone fights and also ties in with the economy.

They are mulitple RPs under development based on my knowledge. I have one myself that is under development and I can honestly say HabLife is still the most promising one. Now as far as their staff being "sketchy" I don't know anything about that but the community would know more than me as I don't really socialize much with anyone outside of my community. But what could and would make a "good RP" is providing some concepts that users will actually have to LEARN and get to experience rather than just the typical/traditional features they are already use too. I seen a thread where someone said Peak developers patterned their development features behind GTA RP (FiveM) servers like the escort and a few others. That was and still is the smartest thing to do! Crafting/Growing drugs is another unique feature that we plan on implementing onto our RP. As for my project it won't be the traditional "Habbo Roleplay" as it will provide users with an option to opt-into what we will call "RP Mode" and "Classic Mode". Merging two different communities under one gaming client - but as far as the RP side we are bringing in the basic & traditional features but also introducing an entire new look, feature(s), and design. Every other RP since Peak had just used the same websockets/UI design and haven't much done anything out of the ordinary. So long story short, I do think a good RP project will presents itself soon. Before the end of this year for sure!

You got a decent idea but as far as RP imo it probably wouldn't work or you don't have it planned out right yet. To me, it seems like it would just be another MyBobba copy. Keep trying though that's what matters. Peak didn't just do GTA they experimented with different things. They had a version with no corps more of a runescape-type vibe honestly.

Hablife is doing similar peak HP bars, similar turf features, the same gym cycle, etc. You claim it is promising then go on to talk about how no one does anything out of the ordinary, typical traditional features blah blah which is it? the UI looks like a dumbed-down peak version just missing stuff same layout.

Know what role-players are good for?
Being underage and e-fucking in every room of your hotel, right in front of everyone lool

What's left of Roleplay is horny teenagers and nostalgic adult's that cant get over their glory days on Peak. Hybrid concepts don't really work unless they are extremely casual either. These two communities don't mix very well together so I don't think the next big thing is a Hybrid hotel either...

I'd like to be proven wrong but I'm not holding my breath for the next big Roleplay, because, like every other aspect in the English's retro scene, it is dead, and the market for it is extremely niche in an already very niche private server community.

The thing about the development of RP’s now that Peak is closed, in my experience it’s harder than ever to create one without using Peaks ideas/some of the features they had but when that happens, the RP then gets the reputation of just another “peak clone” so you just can’t win on that side of things.

You don’t know what an RP is. Mybobba ain’t it.

This is true but it’s the same people that claim they will be unique or bash people for that same reason when that’s exactly what they are doing on their end.

You're calling me out for something I never claimed to be though? I've always branded my hotel as a hybrid experience, and my intention was to never do as peak or RP Hotels did. Nor have I claimed to try to be just that.

The entire thing is extremely casual and just a bonus thing for normal users do enjoy and participate in, something with actual stories, life like builds, and other features to make the normal habbo experience more enjoyable.

What I commented was simply an observation and what I've seen ring true on other "Rp" hotels this past year. You RP lot are extremely toxic too btw.
