You don't exactly need knowledge, you can go through it just as you were creating your own hotel. Only difference is whatever emulator you choose to use will be plagued with more bug...that's about it.

Good tutorial, maybe update it a bit, create another thread with newer cms's or emu's etc. Good tut though.
