non of the $_POSTS are filtered. the response files do not check if a user is allowed to run the script or doesn't even check to see if a user is logged in..

Atleast he contributes something. If you don't want to use it then don't, but some might find it useful. Like every script you download online you're using it at your own risk. retro cms out there surely have exploits you don't know about and maybe no one knows about, but that doesnt change the fact people use it.
