What’s happened to Habbo/Retros they’re all so dead.

Things looked promising with Nitro and like we had a whole new future ahead but it seems that the end of Flash is also the end of Habbo.

This time last year you could still go on retros and play games like slap the flamingo and casino but now there is nothing.

Probably because a lot of people don't want to take the time to download clients. Either that or they have gotten tired of retros and this death was the end for their time as a player. Flash's death was a big eye opener to a lot of people (considering how long some people have been playing for), and most of the community has moved on. With that being said, Habbo and Habbo Retros are going to probably reach their end in the next couple years, the player based of both Habbo and Habbo Retros has declined over the years, and like all games, eventually they reach an end.

Also this time last year, the only reason there would have even been an increase in players again is because of COVID-19 and all the shutdowns/lock downs of things, with this all coming to an end in most countries, people have started resuming their normal lives, going outside, taking vacations, meeting up with friends and family, going back to work and or school also.

Nitro is great overall, great work to @Billsonnn, @Laynester and the others who've contributed to Nitro making the longevity of retros increase, for those who still want to play a retro, but regardless of what it is, saving retros just won't be possible, its a repetitive cycle of declination that'll continue to occur, even with retros being hyped it might succeed for a bit or some time such as Peak by @Haid , and @CosmoPeak but their already probably at V3/V5 or so by now with all the time they've put into updating Peak, people come, play, buy subscriptions, eventually get tired of it, and stop entirely.

In conclusion, Habbo and Habbo Retros / Roleplays will die out regardless.

I hadn’t thought of covid tbf that’s probably a big impact. I never have time to play usually but during covid I was on a lot.

A lot of people left because how toxic people are in the community, I have seen a huge decrease in orders from retro clients in the last few months, something new is needed but when something new is done its always the same nobody wants to share a project anymore because of the number of people who will rename something, remove the original dev's credits and claim they did it all or start attacking another server because they have 1 more user than them.

If a true dev community returned and worked together great things could happen but seems it will be good in the beginning but just one of the dev's gets their head turned by a narcissistic prick the whole project dies because it goes from everyone for the project to everyone for themselveses

Arcturus Morningstar created a community based around an emulator for a few years but as you said one dev and the whole project went to shit l o l

wait for the next big disappointment called arcturus 2.0
But it's free... I don't really understand the disrespect people get towards them and their software, especially when what they're doing is free. Likewise with Arcturus 1, their live(s) wouldn't be any worse off if they didn't even publicly release anything. Either use it or don't, and if you have nothing constructive to say then don't day anything at all.

arcturus 1 had callbacks to the generals servers, couldn’t imagine what he’d put in arcturus 2, not to mention the code snippets he shared aren’t that great either

Yeah you right. I think it was used for some licencing and other things. I've not seen any code so I'm not to judge but if that's a deal breaker for you then by all means use what you currently have, I respect that.

Even a Microsoft operating system has callbacks built-in for licencing, performance and error reporting just to name a few. Your mobile phone will have callbacks to the network and also the handset company such as Apple or Samsung. This does not mean the information or callback is harming the device at all.

it's just fresh that hardly reaches 20 daily, cos the owner is money obsessed and half the staff don't know their arse from their elbow
All of their staff paid for being it. It has one of the most toxic retro communities.

Retros were made as a means of communication and got surpassed by Discord. The community hasn't helped either
Not (entirely) true. They were made as an alternative to Habbo. Retro's had a lot (free stuff) more to offer than Habbo.

According to actual sulake staff, there is no marketing budget for habbo and the game is being let go dry.

Evidence of this?
Evidence is not needed... What major promotional advertising have they done since stuff like Capri sun and celebrities? plus when it got released onto mobiles and Ipads... since then nothing has happened. In fact, once their reputation was damaged by Channel 4 they did little to nothing to get the game an audience again. I mean so many partnerships at one point, all burnt dry now because the top executives have retirement money and they don't really give a shit about what happens. I remember when moderators would hunt you down for advertising a retro. Now I could advertise a retro for about an hour and get away with it compared to back in the day where their worst response time for catching retro advertisers was 5 minutes.
Post automatically merged:

Plus all the money they spent on catching Aaron the creator of retro's... I mean it literally started a bigger problem because now the emulator was free meaning anyone and everyone could set up a retro no stress. That's why retros are dying too... because people build friendship groups of 20-30 of them and think they are going be the next big thing but they make the market more saturated...
