Evidence is not needed... What major promotional advertising have they done since stuff like Capri sun and celebrities? plus when it got released onto mobiles and Ipads... since then nothing has happened. In fact, once their reputation was damaged by Channel 4 they did little to nothing to get the game an audience again. I mean so many partnerships at one point, all burnt dry now because the top executives have retirement money and they don't really give a shit about what happens. I remember when moderators would hunt you down for advertising a retro. Now I could advertise a retro for about an hour and get away with it compared to back in the day where their worst response time for catching retro advertisers was 5 minutes.

Plus all the money they spent on catching Aaron the creator of retro's... I mean it literally started a bigger problem because now the emulator was free meaning anyone and everyone could set up a retro no stress. That's why retros are dying too... because people build friendship groups of 20-30 of them and think they are going be the next big thing but they make the market more saturated...
them letting is go dry is pure speculation from you, they haven't had celebs go on in over 10 years, it's not being made to go dry, if it was then they wouldn't have design teams continuing to make furniture lines for campaigns and having competitions and ambassador events, habbo is still very much thriving if you want to believe that or not but they are facts, of course it's not doing AS well as before the channel 4 scandal happened but they are getting a pretty penny from it🤷🏼‍♂️

I joined in 2009, when Habbo was advertising all over social media, in stores and also offered retail gift cards. Since then, Habbo has considerably stepped back its marketing and cut features that kept players engaged.

The decline is probably due to the nature of an online MMO and especially one based around tweens socializing with adult users that haven't left the platform. Around 2012, Habbo had a ton of reports go out regarding Habbo being used as a grooming platform for pedophiles and interest fell off shortly after.

I think the retro community has some cool tools, but there's no innovation that's capable of reviving retros or Habbo

It's not speculation. Contact anyone you like at Sulake about why it's financial reports on habbo have been privatized and why their is small amount of staff... Yes they are still developing stuff because if they didn't they would lose their remaining playerbase rapidly. I mean I am addicted and have loved the game since 2010 but the game is failing because of the marketing behind it and the funding. Their is small moderation and a lot of over moderation by an automated system... the game is literally just about agencies nowadays. Their isn't any role play or shops or builds. It no longer has a target audience. I mean habbo is dying fast and it's sad

Habbo has a toxic community on the real game and the retros, it's just fact. There are some nice people out there that really benefit the game and make it super creative don't get me wrong but you're let down by a ton of people that do the opposite.

Habbo's bad history and lack of community acknowledgment was a pure factor in it being failure to bring it back to its golden age. Habbo 2020 unity launch could be a good example. Went with ideas that the community didn't like and took out features instead of adding.

Couldn't agree more with this. Makes it demotivating to even log in.

Shame Habbo 2020 is still a mess. Currently trading is broken and they're more interested in NFTs. Priorities, eh!

Scambling for money and hopping on the trend before it dries up. Me thinks

the fact that they can do this NFT bullshit recommending people buy cyrpto yet they can't bring casinos back for players that enjoy them? AND fix their current game, so tragic and embarrassing

If a true dev community returned and worked together great things could happen but seems it will be good in the beginning but just one of the dev's gets their head turned by a narcissistic prick the whole project dies because it goes from everyone for the project to everyone for themselves

I totally agree with this 100%. If someone can manage to launch a project with a team of dedicated developers who are all on the same page and can manage to form a NEW community that doesn't include 80% of toxic retro players then we could possibly get atleast 1-3 Habbo Retro projects that will bring back the old feel when TheHabbos.org was around. When they were actually friendly competition between hotels and not just 1 specific hotel averaging 250-500+ users.

Oh and something that's going to last... Not just open and close within the next 30 days.

The problem is, not many people want to give smaller communities a chance these days, which has been the case for a long time now. You will always get toxic players in this generation, and once you attempt to 'eliminate' them, you become the bad guy who is taking the role "too seriously".

Speaking from experience; it's a vicious cycle, you need to be strong minded.

Totally agreed, but let's see if someone can possibly change that. I might go right ahead and make my own attempt.

Other language hotel's are pretty decent in sizing vs english hotels. I seen a hotel yesterday with 450 online spanish hotel. I could honestly agree with the toxic community. I opened a hotel about a year ago and closed it due to how toxic the Krews administrators and "helpers". If you didn't know something they would make fun of you for it. It's sad honestly. Only person i didn't think was Toxic Was Bill. all the others talked behind your back, made fun of people. and one of the Krews admins or helpers knew a exploit in razers CosmicCMS and was hacking hotels with it and wouldn't even help Razer fix it. it's sad in A WAY people complain but most are part of the issue on why people are quiting hotels and also quit making them.

I think once Habbo would take care of attracting new users, the retro scene would also get quite a boost. But nowadays it's very important to show stamina anyway, even if you only have a maximum of 10 users in a hotel. From my own experience I can say that retro hotels have to be moderated very well nowadays, because there are way too many toxic people - at least in the Turkish retro scene. We'll see what else is in store for us...

Are you interested in collaborating on said project? If so, it would have to consist of a competent team with thorough theoretical planning. A few of the main areas would be content management, economic planning/management, contingency plans (preparations for any scenario) and general oversight on a professional level.

Just made this acc to say this... Habbo can come back and that's only within the Metaverse, they need to re-create a hotel more RP suitable though in order for it too work.

They can create their own token which is what will generate the hotel, people work & play games to earn tokens which the token will have a USD value which is where things can get serious for Habbo...
How will they buy property? Clothes? Enhanced stats? (Strength, Intelligence, ect) yes, with Habbo's Token.
You will buy all these things as NFT's which you can then sell in the marketplace & believe me, property close to shops ect will NOT be cheap...

This is what's going on in crypto, Play 2 Earn schemes which is very possible with Habbo now that the Metaverse is becoming a thing... There are many games Playing2Earn (P2E) such as Decentraland, Sandbox, REVV Racing.

Now to me, Habbo was way ahead of it's time and now it can capitalize on such a huge market which WILL bring Habbo users back giving them a chance to P2E & I hope it does.

Last thing, Sulake, Habbo creators are selling NFT's on OpenSea of Habbo Avatars so why are they not creating their open world game like HabboRP was?

What do you think?
