On my vps i've somehow got some ransomware or something on it idk how but it's happened... Basically im not paying them to decrypt my files so how do I fix it and how tf has it even got there

You can get on the browser by running "iexplore www" in the run command, you can do this by holding the windows key and press R. This overrides all encryptions, you might not be able to run downloads though, but worth the try.
 
If that dosen't work, try and do "hh" in the run command and a help box should come up, right click the icon in the top right and click browse. However, this may not work, which is why iexplore is better

were your files really locked? reinstall your vps and get a new ip i guess is all u can do. its also good to back up your files. i would contact your host first to see if anything they can do about it
