Simple, neat & cute. First say for the image on the thread.

As a social networking, basics would go... like:

• Messaging (chat, offline messages etc..)
• Groups
• Friend System
• Wall/Profile Post
• Referral System
• Invitation System
• Gaming System (if ever you try to deploy games on the site)
• Poke
• Like/Unlike System
• News Feed

I know it's most alike to Facebook but see to it there will be something unique on it, like adding members to the current conversation etc... or for groups, there are ranking system the administrator could create, with certain rights.
