If you are looking for modifications and more deep stuff i suggest nexus,
If your going to minimal stuff and play games and etc go to iphone

I have already decided that I am getting iPhone 5S Spacegray or Silver, Eitherway talking about it breaking, One of my mates was holding NEXUS 5 And it dropped from his hand, and his entire screen shattered, like literally.. not a crack or two but entire fucking screen lol, and then google refuses him to change the piece because, It was "his" fault.
Year back, When my brothers iPhone had a crack , Apple got it replaced for just 50$ . IMO , Apple's service & Support > Google's.
