Any ideas on DDOS protection?

I want to set up my hotel on vps, however i dont want to get DDOS'ed or BOOTED.
Any suggestions on how to avoid these?

Just some extra security tips

1. Hide your ip in client

You must be registered for see links

2. Use cloudflare
3. Use peerblock [I just get it incase] not sure what it really does haha
