Just put in your cms it came with the swfs are inside of it after that just edit your config and you good to go.

That's all it's suppose to do, you can try connecting in your client already if you have all that stuff set up.

All your ports should be open on a vps, I think you have to disable your vps firewall if that doesn't work make sure your banner.php has your ip in it.

Are you sure you got the right database for it ? If not I recommend using Phoenix.
