Run command prompt

Type sfc /scannow and return, if it finds errors and repairs them, run the process again until it shows no errors.

Although you guys may be sitting there with a Windows 7 laptop, do not upgrade.
Windows 7 is much more stable, depending on release - and what you're using (official/crack).

However, if you really wish to upgrade to something about windows 7 - make sure you create a backup before doing so.
You can upgrade to Windows 10 development mode - which is free for all operating systems above 7+.

Just simply search into google "Windows 10 upgrade". - Please also be aware, it does state that Windows DO NOT take responsibility if your PC crashes. There will also be many updates coming through (at least one every other day?). So unless you're prepared to waste a possible 10+ minutes for an upgrade every other day; do not download Windows 10.
