Why wont domain change?

So approxmately 20 hours ago I updated my domain nameservers to my new web host and its stil not up. The weird thing is that when I check every few hours the website is either down or it diverts to the old host website, never the new one.

Can someone tell me what I should do? Do nameservers usually act up and take this long?

no, how would that help? I cleared my cache and history from the begggining of time every time that I check

I literally removed old nameservers from domain host and added the new ones. All I did and I double checked the spelling and shit so should be right.

DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours

Nameserver is not answering TCP queries. Error: Connection refused

Does the A record match the IP address in your cPanel?

I want to thank everyone for their help and support. It turns out my inexperience led me to not know that not only must i add the DNS records but i also on the web host must click "park a domain" and add that domain. Thanks once again!
