Why are French people called Frog Eaters?

Pretty simple? However I've known no french people to eat frog legs when I've been in France nor do my french part of the family eat frog legs. Dis is bull shit

I meant to say they stopped selling it because of the Rep.
Its hard and expensive so you dont find it often.

When I went to France a few years back, I saw plenty of frogs in supermarkets, grocery stores etc. I also saw snails... I don't know what they find appealing but they obviously find something ;)

im French and i've never eaten a frog in my life however its true that French people eat frog legs not frogs my mum use to but she dont anymore.
