When flash dies, will our hotels die too? (Flash hotels)

With the new year coming, our legend Flash, will not be supported. What happened to my hotel, or your hotel? Or someones hotel that uses Flash to work? Will it be done for ever? should I stop hosting my Hotel from now? What do I do? Alternatives?

Whilst it can be said that no one is completely sure how retros will be affected - we will just have to go with the tide - flash is being killed in a VERY big way.

However this community is resourceful and I’m sure ways around this will be found. For now, @CosmoPeak desktop client or Habflash by myself will let you use Flash after the up and coming December deadline.

Long term, if it is to survive, the community must abandon flash too and look to adopt more contemporary technologies such as HTML5. Flash is no longer a good or sustainable option.

It will be interesting to see what happens, and how much having to download/install a client on your computer will impact the number of players. It'd be cool to see people innovate, and use package's like . It'll also be interesting to see how Habbo itself is affected by the change.

Unfortunantely some browsers will stop supporting Flash that means you won't be able to use it on those browsers. However I've heard PaleMoon still supports Flash and even Shockwave so if you can get your users to use it then it'll most likely work. There is a few alternatives, There is the Flash Emulator written in Rust which is called Ruffle but last time I saw it was barely supporting AS1. You could also use Electron as it has pepperflash which is basically built-in flash for your app. Most people are taking the approach of using Electron as it's the fastest alternative yet. Theres a few HTML5 projects being developed right now and although I've heard some say they'll be ready by the end of this month it's a big risk taking their word for it because nobody knows if it will be ready by the end of the month and nobody knows what kind of problems to expect from these projects. Habbo's new Unity project resources are already around the community. It has been for a few months now. And personally what I think is by the end of January we'll already be able to make it work with our own hotels. Whatever it is moving forward with any of those will not be a big deal for people who have atleast little bit of knowledge with programming.

I don't know if you guys are updated at all, but there is a very good HTML5 client called nitro that supports every emulator.

I don't see it released, plus it only supports arcturus
It does not only support Arcturus, it supports every emulator. I use Comet myself and i tested it and it worked.

If you change the packets to the ones nitro uses ( ) you will be able to use it.

It should work for every Emulator I don't think anyones gonna go out of the box and change the entire structure it would be a pain in the arse for everyone then because the Emulator packet structures would also require changing. I mean I've only seen slight changes from 2016 to 2018 in the SWF Client. Like maybe 3-2 packets so I don't see why Production matters.

I mean, I'll probably download something to play a few hotels but the user count is going to drop massively overall.

The first HTML5/Unity client will probably do very well, especially if Habbo do remove trading completely, perfect time to set something up for OG/Casino users, especially if the economy is bomb.

It's more work than this. You would need to make sure your emulator is set up to use websockets and you would probably have to redo all the packet structures to match

What would happen if/when windows push an update that blocks the napi that flash uses. These browsers won’t work?

That's exactly what I'm saying most HTML5 clients probably kept the original structure of the current habbo client so that it's not a pain in the arse for people.
So instead of using TCP you use Websockets. And get rid of all the crypto. And it should work with the same structure. Or maybe you will change like maybe 2-3 packets.
