If you do not play MMORPG's or RPG's then please dont answer as your feedback is not needed.

The title pretty much sums up my question:
What makes you play an RPG?
  • Graphics?
  • Storyline?
  • Using control of multiple characters? (AKA. Party Play ~ EG. Final Fantasy)
  • Sideline Quests?
  • Size of the World?
  • Building skill levels (EXP/Crafting/Fishing etc...)
The bullet points I have listed above are just some examples, if you have more feel free to post them

Why have i asked this question?
I have had an idea about something and I just want to gather your personal views on the question above

I'd say i play for things such as the quests, good storylines, XP systems and rewards and maybe a chat system? I also like hogs with multiple choices that chane the storyline

I like interactive story lines where my game experience may be different than yours based on what we decide to do in the game.
Also, I love building skill levels. I like to think of it as competition with everyone else to try and get my skills as high as I can. It's what motivates me to play the game really.

What about if it was single player? something on the lines of Skyrim rather than the likes of RS or WoW

Well personally I like MMORPG's which are fully RPG's. My opinion is that I prefer when everyone plays a part in the RPing rather than some people trolling or just goofing off and not sticking to the point of the game.

The things that make me play an RP are probably the graphics,community,storyline/quests and how creative the game is.

Well I am a big ran of mmorpg and RPG games.
My favourites being minecraft and habbo which are both sort of sandbox games and that's what draws me to them, I love being able to create things of my own and well multiplayer just makes it better! Size of map is important to, could not imagine playing minecraft with tiny maps!

Storyline, building skill levels and definitely the size of the world. A big world makes for a lot of interesting areas to explore imo

Has to have a gripping story-line right from the start or else I immediately get put off. I'm not too fussed about the graphics as long as they game is playable and obvious what certain objects are.

I also think unique features that others games don't have is great for starting off.
