that doesnt matter.
You connect to it via RDC (remote desktop connection), last time i used these the server was windows 7
Having a vps will not do anything or have anything to do with the computer you are using at this moment in time.
Hence the name Virtual Private Server

If you struggling with a vps, i strongly recommend you look into how they work etc... before purchasing one.
There not too good to be true, i used one for a short time and many others on this forum can vouch for them

Yeh there more reliable than your pc.
You dont need a tut to buying one. Its the same process to buying anything else online.
Your login details/invoice etc.. will be emailed to your email address once payment is complete.
The US/UK part is where the servers are located. Meaning your VPS would be located in either the US or the UK (this is your choice)

thats down to you.
If you have a small hotel (low users) then start of cheap.
Once you gain more users and more Ram/CPU/HDD etc.. is needed then upgrade
You can upgrade accounts via your Control Panel, so you dont have to cancel your existing one and then start off fresh (they just update your billing plans to the new one)

Hostname = The name of what you want the server to be called
NS1 = what_you_want_here.domain.com
NS2 = what_you_want_here.domain.com
Root password = The password you want (to access your CP/VPS)

I would have to go with hostingaddicts.com if I was in your shoes. They have been fantastic and we have a few dedicated servers with them. The support is great, and if you contact the sales department they might be able to do better on the price. Anyways, here is a thread we found about some reviews " ".
