Upgrading videocard memory

Hello,
I have been recording videos for a long time now but I was wondering if I could get them a little better, I mean in quality.
I have just checked my videocard specifications and it tells me that I have 1919MB of graphical memory(don't really know the word in English ), while my videocard uses only 256MB?
That's like 1,5GB less that in can use? Or am I wrong?
I'm not really experienced with this stuff so could someone please help me or tell me what to do to get better quality gaming anyway?

The rest of your graphical memory is normally cached. So that when you're computer/laptop actually needs it. It can use it!
So the only way you can get better graphics, is to upgrade your video/graphics card.

Upgrade your video card (latest nVidia GeForce for example) or higher your frame rate if possible.

Unless you can sotter you can't upgrade your video card memory (called vram)

No vram is short for video ram (I assume), so it's ram for your graphics card.
Your graphics card is a different CPU, RAM, and motherboard all in its own, so cute :3

VRAM is outdated... you must be thinking of SDRAM (DRAM).
