You may think that you're too clever to fall for any of the hackers dirty tricks, but there is a new method. What the hacker would do is send you a tumblr link which looks legitimate although it contains a hidden file which runs through your computers Java. This gives the hacker the opportunity to completely compromise your computers files, webcam, saved passwords, anything.
There are also false fansite links going around which automatically redirects to these hijacking tumblr webpages. Once this file has downloaded itself onto your computer there is very little you can do, I would recommend reinstalling your OS from a disc.
I would strongly suggest for you to block tumblr.com using a website blocker whenever you're not using it yourself until this is resolved. Numerous website blockers are available to you.
