Recruiting Starting a project w/ a retro, help needed.

So, I had a dream last night, yeah it was fucking wicked.

I was thinking about making a retro but basically redesigning everything from the ground up, no habbo furni, no habbo ui, etc.

And calling it some bullshit like Bit-Worlds and every room is like a "world" yanno sorta thing.

I got plenty of experience and could run a retro by myself but with the amount of redesigning I'm looking for some developers, gfx artists etc. I'm actually going to market it instead of posting it on DB and Facebook like half of y'all do.

I’ve seen a foreign retro do this a while ago. Basically re-designed how avatars are displayed and clothing/furni re-design so nothing is technically owned by Habbo. Same goes for their website. Goodluck!

That's pretty much the idea, as of now it's only me. Looking at 2-3 months ETA if it's just me, hoping I can get a couple devs on my side.

It does give me some ideas, mine is not going that far, they went a little too far to where it's ugly. Props to them though.

That looks disgusting..they need better graphics designers, but looks like a nice engine.
OT: Good luck, but just my opinion, why not make your own original game, I mean if you're not going to be using Habbo's assets, might as well just load up a free engine that already has networking and make your own graphics, then you have your own branded MMO, so you're not linked in any way to retros, that's what I am doing in Unity.

Not really lazy, just if I can find an easier way around something, then I'll do it. Why recode a whole game when everything is right there for you?

To prevent future issues. That logic makes no sense, that's like saying, why code your own social network when Facebook is there, let's just rip their website design and claim it as ours. If you create everything on your own, you won't have to worry about anyone claiming it as their work or claiming you stole from them.

I'm not going to argue, that basically is what retros are lmao. If I wanted to code my own I would but I'm not going to. Thanks.
