rdc help?

i set up rdc on my windows xp pro sp2 and i am able to connect to it via laptop but my friend who isnt in us tested it out and it wasnt working for him. like anyone outside my network arent able to connect to it..

I know? did you ever allowed the port on firewall? ha some people always make that mistake Follow me
Start Menu->Search->Firewall->New Rule->Next->Port: 3389->Next->Then Finish test it, it should work

You should make sure that Firewall is actually the problem.

Trying temporarily disabling you Firewall and tell them to try & connect again.
If it works, it's your Firewall.
However, if they're still unsuccessful, it's a different problem.

P.S. Don't forget to re-activate your Firewall after testing.

its not the firewall, port 3389 is there...

I have port 3389 on mine... but it doesn't work unless I disable firewall... which is why I don't use it.
