Why do people feel the need to change the footer in php scripts?

Example - HabboRetros.net

The topsite is obviously not run by "HabboRetros.NET 5.2.1" so why change it.

Example 2 - TheHabbos.ORG

TheHabbos have they're own copyright info. But they didn't change the Aardvark topsite information because the topsite is clearly run by that software.

You also see this in PHPRetro.

Because people are pathetic, and want to claim anything they run as their own. It honestly ruins the idea of open source software, as the original creators never get the credit for their hard work. It's also usually something that happens with children (i.e. look at all the renames of HoloCMS & PHPRetro).

People why change the copyright claiming others work as their own are dumb..
