I'm trying to host my Phx emulator on my Windows VPS, and RevCMS on cPanel webhosting.

When I configure my database info, I get the following:

MySQL Engine - RevCMS:
MySQL could not connect to database

PHP Version: 5.3.10

Did you configured it right? And, are the details entered in the config.php matches what really exists on the database? And is the database filled with the tables necessary?

Yes, fresh Phx database

Just use IIS or Localhost ;p

Host your RevCMS and MySQL database on your VPS to make sure it will work. Only few uses that method if they don't have enough space/RAM on their VPS.

CMS Runs best on Linux

The best method that has worked for me was

CMS/DB on cpanel hosting
Emulator on Windows VPS
then just allow the vps access to the database using remote sql?
