Hello Devbest Community,

My company is looking for a partner to set up a OMS, if you like to know more about the role and everything, please read on or contact me via PM.

The role: I have the basic understanding to set up with no problems but as the project goes on and I expect some advice especially with PHP. Also it is important to get on with what is possible for now and hope for room to develop in the near future.

Our website: Coming soon..

All payments if successful will be split equally.

Thank you,
Management

I don't know, some sort of a system for staff to clock in and out, see their hours and payrate, contract.

That kind of thing, is there a name for it?
Ah, I think you mean an order management system.

"An Order Management System, or OMS, is a computer software system used in a number of industries for order entry and processing."
Sounds about right, yeah? So Abakon is going to be an open platform for companies' staff? sounds pretty cool if done right, goodluck

Can i ask why PHP? Is that what ur stack is currently built on or...?

I'm not sure, I mean PHP as in how the user would see on their profile the hours worked compare to their payrate, or if the user had worked that day/hours, weekly hours, timetable and sms updates so those bunch of algorithms or codes would be PHP?

Built with several pages so far, such as index, profile, community news, not very professional but html and css is manageable at the moment.

Also i'll suggest: if you're serious about this you should probably build an app along with it. Or to connect to it, whatever.
Think of your typical employee, probably not that tech savvy, but is hip enough to know how to use a smart phone.
If there's an app this employee can download to directly interect with the site like a wrapper even, that would be a big plus for user accessibility

Are you experienced with PHP? If not,Then why not consider javascript, python, c#, java, etc. etc. I just feel like constraining yourself to hire ONLY PHP dev's is unecessary when you would have a bigger pool of applicants if you expanded your horizons. Im simply looking at it from a managerial standpoint.

edit: my point is further proven by @griimnak, if you want an app then your better off doing this in javascript or c#. The reason why is that the same guy or girl who develops your website OMS can use javascript to make an app or c# to make an app (react native, xamarin) respectively

I'm not! Well you know I've only got 3 pages rolling on the project already so it probably won't hurt to try and get involved with experimenting now.

Ok thank you, I understand your advice perfectly.

How much are you planning on paying?

However as much these project charge for.. I'm guessing £500?

Insanity. For that kind of money invest in a professional. Not someone online who you know nothing of and cant meet in person. Be smart

I've not got the funds nor released my project. Basic ass OMS is fine? As long it looks clean then why not? Any sort of small business would pay up such amount I assume, especially for something so useful to both management and staff.

Good idea would be to release it through update packs like version 1 then 1.1 then version 2 if there is any major changes.

Hey, I specialise in CRMS, more specifically Bitrix24 - I'd suggest doing more research, however, a free version is available and should see you well.
