No, don't reinstall Windows 7.

Had this problem also when I had Logitech 5.1 Surround Speakers, here's some solutions;

First, Start>Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Sound.
Then in that prompt, click on " Speakers " or the name of the 5.1 Surround Speakers your using. Then click on the " Configure " icon. Now configure your speakers in the following prompts so it's all 5.1 Surround.

If that doesn't work, here's how I managed to fix mine:

Check at the back of your sub and computer if you have a Yellow and Black cable plugged, if they are, try unplugging them as you need a soundcard on your computer to be able to properly plug the yellow and black cable.

Beware, on some games/applications, in the options menu, you may need to put the speakers to " 5.1 Surround " if it gives you the option to.

Use all cables except the Yellow and Black cable which are stuck together, if you have a soundcard, then you can use this cable.

Logitech is horrible. RCA & 3M are even better..
Logitech is known for computer accessories, is this a pc surround sound system? If so, what a waste & so pointless. If it's for home theater, I can assist slightly, (due to it being logitech) I recommend getting a better surround sound system.
I use pro logic surround sound system theater box. 9 3M speakers. 4 in front. 4 in back. 1 in center. & a subwoofer. I connect my laptop for netflix often and have no issues. Running Windows 7 Home Premium most of the time.
