In my opinion, PC is the best choice. It's easier to upgrade, it's definitely cheaper (a lot cheaper) and personally I like Windows much more than Mac OS. And there are also many games I wouldn't be able to run on Mac, but I can on PC. And I don't really think Mac's last longer or are harder to destroy (based on my own experiences).
