As the title suggests, I'm on a Mac and wondering how I can create my own retro just for personal use? Or is it possible to buy a pre-made server or something?

Yes of course you can create a localhost hotel on mac.

To name a few options:
1. MAMP/XAMP
2. Docker
3. If you're using a Laravel based CMS e.g. Atom CMS you could also use Laravel Herd (would require you to also manually setup mysql or mariadb (via brew I'd assume)
