So you have a laptop and it's obvious eventually the battery will need replacing, but how do you find it lasts its longest?

Some people use the battery until it runs out and then re-charge it.
Some people keep it plugged into the mains for the whole time of using it.

I find that the second one keeps the battery in tact longest, I have an old laptop and I can't even remember when I bought it and I've never had to replace the battery. It's pretty old and I just keep it plugged in and only use the batter when I need to i.e. when I'm going out etc...

But what do you think?

The best way to prevent your battery from dying (litterally) is to not charge it until it's 100% dead, meaning you can't turn your laptop on even for a millisecond, then fully charging it, and not overcharging it (unless something is wrong inside it will disable the battery once it's 100% charged)

Also having your settings on Power Saver helps.
