How do I connect my VPS to my retro?

I have bought a VPS, and created a r63b retro, they work fine but I don't know how to connect them, I changed my config files and stuff to my VPN and stuff but apparently It doesn't work, only on hamachi, someone please help, I tried MySQL but whenever I open the server from it, it goes into cmd. Someone please tell me how to properly connect them, Thanks!

In that tutorial it shows you by using remote desktop connector, I can't since my VPS is linux based, please help

I believe that you cannot create a retro on a linux server unless you have a java emu? Not entirely sure though.

just use windows vps its easy to work with. and its possible to do it with linux but its to hard

I just bought one, it's hard because my VPS's operating system is the newer version and not 2008, I'm fixing it soon tho, and thanks
