Help with MC

I created a MC server last week, but there's so much lag on it.

Any ideas on how to fix it..

Yeah, get more RAM and/or better connection.

Its on a new laptop. There's nothing else on it except the server.

What is your RAM and other specs? Still could also be internet connection.

Just cause its new, doesn't mean its good.

Try putting it on a VPS, or if you're using bukkit I'd recommend PTWeaks, it might not be for the current version in the downloads section but it works. I can run a lagless MC server @ 258MB ram and 10 players blowing everything up.
