Hey everyone,

This thread isn't anything special, but I'd just like to share how I came about my first "budget" gaming rig. Back in 2012, I didn't know much about computers besides the fact that if you have good RAM and a good processor, your computer will be fast. So that being said, I was really wanting a new computer for my birthday, in which I did get one. I ended up finding a refurbished one from Newegg for $200 and ended up getting it with my birthday money. As I got older and smarter with computers, I ended up doing a complete upgrade on it, basing it all from the CPU that came with it. Keep in mind, this all started in about late 2012 into mid 2013 when I was in vocational school for IT.

So here's some pictures of the progress I started and still currently working on...

Specs:
MOBO:
Some random HP motherboard.
CPU: AMD Athlon II x2 220 @ 2.8 GHz.
RAM: Some random Kingston RAM - 4GB.
PSU: Some random PSU.
HDD: 1TB Seagate.
Case: Some random de-branded HP case.

So that being said, after a few months went by, I started getting into building computers because of my vocational school. I decided to start saving my money up, and decided once I had money saved, I'd upgrade into something better and capable of running games.. so I came up with this...

Specs:
MOBO:
ASUS M5A88-M AM3+ 880G
CPU: AMD Athlon II x2 220 @ 2.8 GHz (Same as above).
RAM: Some random Kingston RAM - 4GB (Same as above).
PSU: Some random PSU (Same as above).
HDD: 1TB Seagate (Same as above).
Case: Apevia X-Trooper Red.

Ended up getting tired of my stuff feeling outdated, so I decided to do bigger saving than before. This is when things started to pick up...

Specs:
MOBO:
ASUS M5A88-M AM3+ 880G.
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Deneb Black Edition @ 3.4GHz Quad Core.
RAM: 8GB G.Skill Sniper Series DDR3 1333.
PSU: Corsair CX500 Builders Series.
GPU: 1GB MSI HD Radeon 7770 GHz Edition.
HDD: 1TB Seagate (Same as above).
Case: Apevia X-Trooper Red then the Thermaltake Armor Reve Gene later on.

Started to feel more outdated and behind with the latest chipsets, so I decided that I've got enough saved to upgrade and this is where I'm currently at...

Specs:
MOBO:
ASRock FX990 Fatal1ty Killer Series.
CPU: AMD Vishera 3600 @ 3.5GHz (4.1 GHz Turbo) 6-Core.
RAM: 8GB G.Skill Sniper Series DDR3 1333.
PSU: Corsair CX500 Builders Series.
GPU: 1GB MSI HD Radeon 7770 GHz Edition.
HDD: 1TB Seagate (Same as above).
Case: Thermaltake Armor Reve Gene.
Aftermarket Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo.
Top Case Fans: Corsair Air Sears SP120 Quiet Edition.

The thing to the right is my old fire/waterproof external HDD. I definitely plan on buying a new one soon.

Now that I'm good until I continue to save and have enough, these are my future addons/upgrades...

GPU: 2GB EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti (Possibly 2 and SLI it).
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Black.
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo (Specifically for Windows booting).
PSU: Corsair CX550 or 600W Builders Series (Depends if I need more power).
Case: One in the Corsair Obsidian Series.

Thoughts? :p

PS: Sorry for the bad image quality.. it was taken with my older Nexus 7. Also, don't hate on AMD until you can say you've had bad experience.

Even though the pics look like it was taken by a potato, looks nice.

Not bad.

You have a build virtually similar to mine (minus the brands and give or take 50w of power). Are you thinking of upgrading anymore any time soon?

Oh, sorry I thought that was your final build. That's similar to my current build. It's a nice GPU.
