December Coding Competition

Seeing that DevBest is a community focused on development, what competition would be more suitable than a coding competition to get everyone in the spirit of coding, and improving their skills? None! With that being said, we have decided that it'd be best to have a competition based around PHP, as it is a fairly easy language to learn, and many people here are all ready fluent in it (to an extent).

What do I have to do?
You simply have to create a CMS using PHP as your server-side script. Your CMS must be from scratch, and genuine. You are free to use MySQL, etc as your database.

How will my CMS be rated?

1. Organization (i.e. how the code looks, etc)
   • Total Possible Points: 3
2. Security (i.e. vulnerabilites, etc)
   • Total Possible Points: 7
3. Preformance (i.e. load times, errors, etc)
   • Total Possible Points: 7
4. Template System (i.e. how templates are integrated, etc)
   • Total Possible Points: 5
5. Features (i.e. news comments, private messages, etc)
   • Total Possible Points: 10

When is the deadline for this competition?
January 7, 2011

How do I submit my CMS?
Simply

You must be registered for see links

with a link to your CMS (the actual code), so others don't rip it. Once the deadline ends, we will rate it.

What will I win?
If you are crowned the winner, you will receive a year of subscription of your choice. The two runners up will also receive three months of red subscription.

NOTE: All code/scripts will be released at the end of the competition.
