BrainCMS Error Please Help

Hey there, newbie here just trying to setup a hotel so I can learn the basics, I've edited everything correctly I believe but when I go into localhost to view the CMS I am encountered with the following error: "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in C:\xampp\htdocs\system\app\plugins\musconnect.php on line 7 "

Isn’t it optional to setup MUS? I’d recommend IIS, never had an issue like this using that.

Check your PHP version. The short array syntax "[]" was not introduced until version 5.4. I'd recommend updating your PHP version to a more recent one or you'll need to use "array()" to instantiate arrays instead.
