/index does not exist. Should be index.php, unless you have URL Rewrite rules in your web.config file (if that's the case, then can't help without seeing those rules).
I find it sad that you think me questioning some of your wild claims is the equivalent of a win/lose type situation. Finding out you were wrong about something shouldn't be considered a 'loss'. Unless, of course, you have an insecure ego.
So do you admit that you were wrong about switch() being "much more efficient"?
Or do you wish to continue displaying your foolishness by making bold claims you apparently know nothing about?
Explain how it would be much better if he used switch(). You are making assertions that you have yet to back up. Questioning such claims is not spamming. I also like how disregarded the portion of my post asking you to show how using switch() is "much more efficient" than using if/else.
Here...
Do you have any performance benchmarks that show using switch() is "much more efficient"?
It's not bad practice to use if/else. It's called preference.
Why include MySQL host and MySQL port? Installation scripts are supposed to be run from on the server, so that stuff is useless.
The person who said it can get shelled: You've seen a small snippet that cannot be exploited (at least that portion of the code).

Hard to tell since we don't know your directory structure.
Old school Eminem was one of the best of all time. Not a fan of his latest stuff though. Hopefully his new album is more like his old stuff.
