What is a good capture card, and what is the best capture card?

Hey,

Alright basically this thread is for me to just find out some information, so here are some questions:

What is a good capture card?
I'm expecting you to list a 'good' capture card(s) here.
What is the best capture card?
I'm expecting you to list the 'best' capture card(s) here.

Also, some things to note when you list them, I NEED to know if I can play in HD and record in HD, or if I can play in HD and record SD, and so on.

(Also, unsure if this will effect anything but I use 'Mad Catz AMPX AMPLIFIED' headset, which uses an adapter for the splitter cables, so I can still play in HDMI, will I need more or extra splitter cables? as I do have the red + white spare as the headset allows me to add more into them ).

Only reply if you're actually going to answer my questions, otherwise you can probably guess what will happen to your post.

I've seen that company sponsored on so many videos, I'll take a look into it. But probably will not go straight w/ it with it being just for testing. But it seems a good buy due to the component adapter being an all in one which will not be a hassle w/ my other adapters which is great.

I actually had this, the SD version, wasn't a fan because I couldn't play with good quality, and rendered in SD, I settled with the Hauppauge HD PVR 1.

I only bought this due to these reasons:

• Was £65 in the shop, so thought I'd buy it.
• Didn't buy it online, had no wait for the item, only the trip home
• Delivery would of taken ages for the Elgato. (I did want this though).
