Have you attempted trying to setup* the server yourself? If so, what is the error you're encountering???

For your Xampp problems, make sure that other programs are not using the ports, e.g Skype.
Also, I can't walk you through the whole setup, I need a specific problem you're stuck on, perhaps write out the part of the tutorial you're stuck on, or if it's the whole tutorial try a different one.
