Mysql cannot connect to host

Hey there, trying to figure this problem and hopefully have a solution. So heres what it comes to.. I have Mysql running and can connect using navicat. Config files match the database and password used. I also have Mysql Connecter, Workbench using PHP 5.5. The ports are open aswell in firewall for both inbound/outbound.

Well, Simply goto your config.php and make sure your Database name is the same as in your Navicat/HeidiSQL (dont know which you use) If it doesn't line up well then gg

Looks like a RevCMS edit to me, is it using the basic mysql_connect or is it the updated edit that uses mysqli ?

It is a revcms edit using connect.

Yes he had it installed, i told him to reset the MySQL password using CMD Prompt.
