Yes, there's a WORKING Minecraft installer for Ubuntu!!!

Took me forever to find this, but here ya go:
Virus check:

Info/notes:
Downloads the latest version of Minecraft, and puts it on your desktop
the .minecraft folder is located in the home folder after pressing Ctrl+H

EDIT: I've only tested with Ubuntu Version 11.10, and I'm not sure if you force-update it still works.

All you need to do is set the jar runnable, and make sure your jre/jdk is java's official one xD

on Ubuntu 11.10 it doesn't work. It took me a while to find this.

Ok it's a SH FIle but how do i run it.

Right click it, click "Properties", then permissions, then check "Execute" and close it after that.
and run it!
