if MTA or SAMP will not run i advise samp any way more servers MTA only good for maping which u can put into pawn and put in samp by the program pawno or notpad++ .......
if you can not install mta or samp get mta 1.0.5 best version to run and samp v3.0c R3
if you can not play samp or mta because of a error downgrade your gta patch from SA-MP.com
Notes about samp:
Don't get hacks servers can pick them up instandtly some times)
Lag shots because they have not go the head, body and weapons sync fixed yet
if your attacked first and you kill them well done but if you'r in a non DM server do SD (self defence) or you'll get warned
!!Make a back up GTA!! if you have a crap graphics card like me Intel chipset G33 or somthing make a back up one GTa might get fucked (direct9.0c even if you have it, it will not fix)
