The new theme isn't the best, in my opinion.

But I did a few F12 tweaks, and honestly, I think the category headers look better darker (#0e2035) because they match the navigation bar.

That and a few additional tweaks, and this theme could be really nice, like removing the social icons at the top and bottom (unless there are actual plans to use them)

But not the footer links, the long-lived meme that the footer links do nothing shall never die!
