Do NOT buy IlluminaUI by Cowboystyle

Hello everyone.
This post is mainly to warn people. @cowboystyle , the maker of a custom nitroUI called IlluminaUI, recently disappeared from the face of the earth. Several people have purchased the mentioned UI for $40, but have not received a response or the UI itself.

Also, no updates, which are promised at the time of purchase, have been released for months.

Now discord has been temporarily blocked in the country where @cowboystyle comes from. This could explain the ignoring. However, this ban has not been in place for some time now. He also seems to just respond to topics on Devbest, among others.

This is NOT a POST to smear anyone. This is purely intended to warn people.

Well, in part I would also say that the Illumina base has already been released, so it doesn't make much sense to buy it, not even to receive updates.

It’s clear at this point that he was only here for a quick cash grab. After getting enough sales, he decided to abandon his project claiming there isn't much more to fix or do with it, instead fulfilling his promises, leaving his paying customers with nothing but a dead project who half don't even have the open source to fix the bugs themselves leaving their money wasted.

Regarding @cowboystyle, excuse of Discord being blocked holds no weight since he could use VPN. A responsible developer managing a project like his would have made an alternative line of communication if he gave zero fucks about his rep or community to ensure ongoing support especially when people invested so much in his project under the belief that regular updates and maintenance would follow.

The fact that cowboystyle has been active on DevBest since this post, and has completely ignored them, It shows a complete lack of respect / accountability to people who financially supported his work. This behaviour is similar exactly what Carlos did with his Modern and Flash UIs in the earlier nitro days overpromising, taking the money, and disappearing. Wouldn't be shocked if they're the same people.

At this point, if someone has the full source, it should be shared with the community if they want help with issues they're having to resolve the problems, and keep the project alive. The people who paid for it deserves better than being left in the dark while cowboystyle profits and vanishes.

People still haven't learned their lesson of not buying shit like this in over 15 years. At some point, you deserve it if you get scammed.

I get where you're coming from, but saying someone deserves to get scammed feels a bit harsh. Nobody willingly signs up to be scammed. People come and go from the community, take breaks, and may not always be aware of past scammers or their history. Not everyone has the same level of experience or knowledge about who to trust.

That said, I don’t completely disagree with you. Krews Marketplace does a solid job of preventing these situations with their beware-of channel, where scammers and potential scammers are flagged. Any legitimate seller should also be in the trusted section, making it easier to avoid bad actors.


At the end of the day, scams still happen because scammers persist—switching names, using aliases, and preying on those who aren’t aware. Just recently, I caught @Zombie trying his old tricks again. I was able to warn a potential victim before they got caught up in it, but it’s frustrating that people like him, who know full well what they’re doing is wrong, yet continue to try. In his case, he’s even using his real name “Rhyce,” on Discord.

Nobody asks to be scammed, and it’s a shame that this still goes on. But rather than blaming victims, the focus should be on staying informed and keeping the community aware.

How about answering some questions with actual proof to back up your claims that this is false? You might not realize it, but many of us have been part of this community for years. We’ve seen people like you come and go, always trying the same tired tactics. Eventually, when you realize you can't talk your way out of this by playing the blame game, you'll likely disappear, only to return later under a new alias, hoping to pull the same stunt again.


Your attempts to deflect are nothing short of childish and pathetic. There’s no credibility left for you to salvage, and nothing that justifies your actions or restores whatever trust you may have once had. The best course of action is to be honest, admit your mistakes, and do better moving forward.


And let’s be real; if this weren’t true, why would the person who exposed you come forward with legitimate concerns, backed by evidence? Resorting to insults because you have no real argument? That says a lot. But I’m not even bothered, it’s clear you’ve got a lot to work on, and personal growth should be at the top of your list.


Leaving the community is one thing, but did you actually tell anyone? No wonder people felt left in the dark with no explanation or accountability. Instead, you disappeared, took the money, and now act like you’re the victim. That’s not how responsible people handle things.


And let’s talk more about "Discord being banned" excuse. As previously mentioned (in case you've forgotten) A VPN exists, even free ones. So either you didn’t care enough to find a solution, or you just wanted an excuse. Either way, it’s weak.


Now, about this so-called "underpayment" - where’s the proof? You voluntarily gave away features , and now you’re acting like you were forced? That’s on you entirely.


But lastly, I would like you to know, there’s no point going back and forth with someone who refuses to take accountability for their own actions. So keep wasting in your own delusions - at least people will be weary in the future and hopefully steer absolutely clear of you.

I don't trust VPN, everyone complains a lot about all the free ones, most people's accounts were stolen, my BANK ACCOUNT was stolen too. so someone bought Spotify using my bank details

I talk to Phoenix and Thomas on an app other than Discord (one Instagram and one Whatsapp), why do you have a problem with that?

You have no right to speak here at all. He did a great job for what you paid him. You just want more. You’re incredibly insecure and want a different UI every time. You offered to help me, but when I gave you the server details, you tried to steal all the Hablush files. You didn’t quite succeed. Stop blackballing him. I might as well create a thread about you with all the evidence attached. Then the retro community will know what you're really like.
