can either switch to a rating system or keep both and just have reviews on hotels. could be cool rather than a voting system.

We have reviews. It's the advertisement section. Besides it probably will be abused, I don't think it will help the hotels either as their point of communication on the forums will be spread out. Same for users looking for a hotel.

I also think a Star Rating system should be introduced too, to bring back the “hotel” aspect to retros..

It's not a bad idea.
but as stated above, the retro community is toxic and shrinking, which makes the toxicity more potent.

Having such a section would just be a place where people directly talk shit about hotels publicly, probably resulting arguments that flood cb.
