I've been trying to install a recently released CMS that habulo.us used.

However.

I get this error:

Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in C:\xampp\htdocs\app\class.engine.php on line 48
MySQL Engine - RevCMS:
MySQL could not connect to host

Now. The config file in \app\management\ is not wrong and has been set up properly, all the mysql settings are correct.

Does anyone have any ideas? D:

Thanks !

The password must be wrong then for the MySQL server then, confirm it is correct or try again.

MySQL & Apache are turned on. The password is correct. I just signed into phpmyadmin by copy and pasting the details from the config file...

"Access denied" is a common error meaning that your password is wrong.
now, either the sql configuration file is wrong, or MySQL is off. Restart Xampp by hitting the Exit button, then try again. If the problem persists, reinstall Xampp.

Try this. Stop MySQL, and install it as a service. Then again, make sure its stopped.

Next, open up run on your start menu and run: services.msc

Next, look for MySQL service, and then start it.

This may or may not work, but it's worth a shot.

I managed to solve the problem.

It was an ASCII issue. There was some problem with my characters but I corrected it with notepad++
