Laptop purchase.

Ok, My time has come... I am THINKING of buying a laptop. My first laptop i'd have purchased my self as I now just use a shitty Dell Studio for me and my sister. How ever I do not know what I am looking for... Well I know that what you are generally looking for but I want to be able to play games like Skyrim, GTA, CoD, LA Noire without lag as I have never been able to play good games like that. I have been scouting around the web looking for laptops. I stumbled across this site here:

where they create a laptop for you tuned for gaming. How ever can you tell me if that is any good to buy from. I saw this one laptop on that site which looked pretty good to me if you customize it a bit

Can you all tell me what are some good specs to look for in a PC and maybe sites to buy from? I am from New Zealand and will purchase using NZD not wanting to go over about 1.3 to 1.4k and please tell me if that site I found is any good and if that laptop I found is a good choice. I am open for suggestions

Play games yes, Surf the web for facebook, habbo and school work and I want to be able to use word and general things you do on a laptop for school

Does it have to be a laptop? You'd get a lot more bang for your buck with a custom PC, as oppose to a laptop.

I would like a laptop I know desktops are generally better but laptops are portable
