Didn't know where else to post this..

So, Google and Mozilla have been working (separately?, idk) on a crypto api for client-side web apps.
(URL is blocked for some reason, google this "mozilla encryption api")
Basically this will allow you to encrypt user data on the clients side of things.

What are your thoughts?
Personally I'm very excited as this could herald a new layer of web app security soon!

How is this any better then server side? I would see this as more of a vulnerability due to the user being able to see the hashes being used.
