Okay, This is another one of my 'tutorials/guides' for the basic Habbo Retro. Please feel free to post any idea's or other additions to this guide, as I've said before this is only a base layer, to an Economy, I'm not telling you how to run the Economy, this is just my opinion.

So here goes;

Make your starting credit's low. If you start with 50,000 you're basically chucking furniture/rares away, people can basically afford anything that is in the catalogue. If you start with something too low, people will leave, but if you start with something too high, people will get bored, and leave. So you need something in-between. I'd start with something around 100c-1,000c mark. Basically, people can afford things out the catalogue, and can bet their coins to get rares, but they have to risk it because they can't keep betting over, and over because the lack of credits. This also will improve people's online time, because the more they stay online, the more credits they receive, they'll stay because they want rares, and will be willing to work for it.

Events. Make sure you do these regular because they can release rares into the Economy, to start the 'Gambling/Casinos' off. But, the thing you don't want to do is give prizes such as; 100 Thrones, 50 Dino Eggs, 1,000,000c, and other over the top prizes. It's funny to start with, but if you want your hotel to become serious these need to stop, if it means a clean-out then it shall be. Make a catalogue for staff to use as prizes as events, this'll help staff to define which they can give out, and which they can't. Don't use customs, just use the 'basic' rares in the catalogue. If you use 'd0wn4all's' catalogue, the MOD-Catalogue are event prizes. But the main thing is, don't over do it.

Credit timer. This is another main one. I've been through hotels that have been passing out Thrones/Dino's every time someone joins, this is bad. If you do this, people'll get bored of being the richest and leave, now you don't want that do you? No, don't throw anything out over the top. A suitable timer, if you're using say, 500c on start up would be 75 every 20 minutes.

Welcome gifts. Some hotels give out hundreds of Thrones, or other rares around their hotel. This is bad, as I've said before people'll leave if they're the richest, because they'll be bored. Making the Economy, steadier will make the game more attractive, and less boring. Throwing, rares, and credits out to a user maybe good for the first 10 minutes, then he'll leave. If you gave out a Ice Cream Machine on every 5 users joined, that'll also get the Casinos/Gambling moving.

It's the simple stuff that make the hotel work.

A good Economy is a good Hotel.
