How do I hide IP on the client? Also, from netstat? Fresh Hotel had done it, and so did Habboon. Please comment if you know how, also, some cheap ddos protection or free would be better. The best free ddos protection please, if you know one.

No such thing.

If your using Phoenix you can hide your IP in your Habbo.swf, look for a tutorial around.

You will never be able to hide your IP, never. Even if you hide it from the Habbo.swf, you can view it from netstat. Netstat is a command that can view your current connections and it cannot be changed.

The only possible way to hide your "genuine" IP is by using a proxy server. Unless you have a good reason, their is no point. If the reason you're trying to achieve this is, so users don't know your IP, maybe invest in a book and read how to use your firewall instead of trying to spoof or hide your IP. It isn't hard.

You can modify it to the smallest detail. For example, if a user pings the server, you can instruct the server to ignore and not throw an ICMP Echo Reply back at the user requesting it.

Well, can't you just use a domain?

We use domains because numbers are generally hard to remember. We also use domains because they look prettier than those of IP addresses. It would be huuuuuge' design flaw if we couldn't reverse the domain to its corresponding IP address and vice versa.

That being said, registering a domain would be even sillier, because you need to provide personal details and you also need to purchase the domain before you may use it for anything. This would mean, all your details are on a central WHOIS database and available to the public. Even if you have WHOIS protection, that will not stop Sulake or anyone else who commences legal proceedings against you. That being said would be a bit silly, if the pre-thought out idea was to "hide" us.

In conclusion, you cannot hide your IP, ever.

Its not worth paying so much when you just making a retro for the fun and does not earn anything from retro.
Actually some hotels are quite large.. and get vip donations. "Most" hotels use this money to provide security & servers to their hotel. They would do anything to keep on earning so of course they need good ddos protection.

Wrong. I dont know where you get your information from, but $100 ?....

Large hotels have dedicated servers that sometimes cost $900 per month. Its alot if you think about it, but $10 per vip.. having 1,000 users on at a time. Imagine how many have purchased VIP? Times that by the cost.. and this is how they are able to keep their servers up.

The only way I know to hide your IP in viewsource is use a proxy.

or spend a TON of money on protection so if they got the IP, it wouldn't matter.
I would reccommend just trying to get a proxy.
