Hackintosh?

I've recently heard of hackintosh (macintosh on a PC) and got curious about it.
I was wondering if its safe to install it onto a pc as I really like the OS, and what may/may not work.

If you can give any advice, thanks

I wouldn't say that it will have a better performance than having the OS X on a mac it self , but i guess you can use VMWARE fusion and run the OS X.

VMWare isnt the same as having the actual OS installed

If you're going to do it, do it on a virtual box. It isn't a good idea to take a homebrew like Hackintosh to use as your main unless you want to enjoy ubuntu when it breaks. Really, it's up to you though.

I would personally check out some reviews on it first before you go through with it to see if they had any problems with it.

If you end up going through with it let me know how it goes, I'd be interested in it if it works.

It's a long and complicated process, which can seriously mess up your pc.

OS X is different , and specially Lion OSX , since all the new features that has and a mac OS X needs to be compatible for some functions.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have made a VM With OSx installed in it, i guess its just the same..

if you get your DSDT correctly customised and the correct KEXTS installed it will be just as "stable" as a legitimate Macintosh system.

I researched further into it and found out my Wireless card was not compatible with it

A Hackintosh (I Think) is a computer using The Apple OS on a virtual machine,

I think it would be a good idea, but it could use up loads of RAM

No a Hackintosh is OS X running on non-macintosh hardware.
