External Access to my hotel

I can access my hotel fine internally using my local ip in the address bar, when I try to connect using my external ip, it says it cant connect. I know its a pretty noobish question but I have been working on this for agess and had no success.

I have xxamp running

Please say if I need to give more details

Because its on localhost, open the ports.

I have now fixed it so I no longer need xxamp open to run the hotel. I just type in my internal ip and away we go . I have port forwarded the port used in the config.php file as well as the EMU?? Still struggling
