Go a little easier on the contrast, go for shades that closer relate to each other so it's softer on the eyes. Also, how come the text is pixelated, what anti-aliasing method are you using?

Check via the inspect element. It's the best way to identify whether there are any margins/paddings present that you are not aware of (or inherited via other elements). Inspector will identify it for you - play around with the code in browser then adjust accordingly.

Show us your code or provide the address.. What is it with people not providing enough information now adays?

Try and be more clear on what it is you are after.. From what I can see from your "question" you are wanting particular words to flash? Just wrap them in a div (or span, depending on which is appropriate in context) with the correct class to call the CSS styling for flash?
